MusicGirls Guiding Principles

Sandy’s MusicGirls

Guiding Principles

  • Making music is fun.
  • Girls benefit from girls-only activities.
  • Developing music skills builds self-esteem.
  • Creativity is a skill that can be developed.
  • All girls are welcome, regardless of religion, race, color, orientation, national origin, or ability to pay.
  • MusicGirls instructors and staff are female and are important role models.
  • We strive to make every girl feel recognized and valuable.
  • We include girls with special needs when possible.
  • We provide a kind, supportive, and trusting environment.
  • Because the ability to present to others is extremely valuable in every aspect of life, we provide optional performance opportunities.
  • We recognize and honor the wide range of abilities, learning styles, and personality traits, such  as introversion/extroversion.
  • We actively recruit girls who benefit from activities being free or low cost.
  • Sandy’s MusicGirls survives and thrives on community support.
