MusicGirl Summer Camp is a cornerstone activity of Sandy's MusicGirls Scholarship Program. The mission of the day camp is to excite girls about bringing music into their lives, and to support them on their musical journey.
Camp shows girls that music is fun!
Girls 6 to 9 learn the basics on ukulele and dulcimer and have group singing and rhythm sessions during three half-day sessions that include lunch.
Older girls, 10 to 19, attend 5 full-days. The program changes each ear to keep it fresh. They get to learn a variet of instruments which may include; banjo, bass, dulcimer, ukulele, guitar, cello, violin, mandolin or piano
Girlsnay also take other classes including voice, songwriting, dance (clogging) and rhythm/percusion classes. Camp concludes with a MusicGirl Showcase where campers have the opportunity to share what they have learned with parents and friends.
We hope that MusicGirl Summer Camp will stimulate girls to carry on with the musical interests they develop at camp
