2023 MusicGirls Camp started off with the most girls ever enrolled in MusicGirl camp, about 75 girls. Camp started with a bang and ended with a bigger bang! The Girls choose from violin, piano, guitar, ukulele and cello. They were also introduced to several other instruments, such as dulcimer, bass and banjo in what we call "rotation" classes. Clogging, voice, rhythm and songwriting were also offered.
Each day included an "open mic" and ended with a "jam Session". This year, we launched a "band incubator" session where Musicgirls were randomly assigned to a group. The resulting MusicGirls combos were amazing.
Camp ends with a finale on Friday called "MusicGirls Showcase" where parents, family, friends, and the public get to see what the girls learned at camp in a performance setting. It is very inspiring...and entertaining! The Camp takes place at Lake Wales Arts Center, a beautiful venue for MusicGirls Camp.
